2018-08-11 Kay and Group Hike to Huntington Dog Beach

Dad grabbed his leash and took me for a hike. We met up with some other dogs (and their people) and hiked almost 3 miles. Then I realized we were almost at Dog Beach! I should have been so excited… but I just hiked nearly 3 miles, and it would be 3 miles when we actually got to dog beach. Would I be too tired to play? Would I have no fun?

Of course not, and no. I had plenty of energy, I ran, I played, I stole balls from other dogs so they would chase me. I played keep away with my dad and the ball I stole from another dog. Dad gave me a new ball and took the ball I stole and he gave it back to the dog I stole it from… That’s okay, I have a new ball from dad.

Then we hiked back. Another 3 miles, but I wasn’t as excited this time. I was tired, and calm, and not at all like the 22 month young puppy I was a couple hours ago.
